About Maarten de Vugt
Maarten de Vugt worked for years as a physiotherapist in the Netherlands and Germany. Over time, the regular profession did no longer provide optimal satisfaction and he decides to follow the five year osteopathy course at the Sutherland College in Amsterdam. What particularly appealeds to him is the holistic approach of osteopathy, in which the body is viewed as a whole. This in contrast to the symptom-oriented approach within physiotherapy.
After three years of experience as an osteopath in Amsterdam, he started his own practice in 2002 in the building of physiotherapist Paul Klaver in Naarden. The two of them share knowledge and expertise and are now collaborating successfully for 10 years.
Maarten approaches his profession from the original osteopathy school which focuses on the vitality of the body. After therapy the body can further regulate and restore itself. This approach considers the human being as a whole of body and mind combined, and aims to promote its self-healing capacity. If the disturbed dynamics of structure, fluid and energy are being restored, you can not only feel physical changes but also emotional or mental changes.
It is of course best to experience this personally. Many have preceeded you and found a solution to their sometimes unexplained complaints.
